Green Valley Ranch is pleased to have an outstanding in house veterinarian. Dr. Pat Garrett, DVM was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. He received an Animal Science degree from Mississippi State University in 1996, and graduated from Mississippi State University Veterinary School in 2000. Dr. Garrett rodeoed in high school and college, competing in steer wrestling and team roping. His father and brother are stockers/order buyers in the cattle business. After completing Veterinary School, Dr. Garrett worked for Equine Medical Associates in Pilot Point; Harrington Equine Hospital in Birmingham AL; and Ocala Equine Hospital before starting his own practice in Pike Road AL in 2003. "I wanted to see different aspects of the equine industry," he explains. Dr. Garrett and his wife Jayme were friends in high school before becoming reacquainted 11 years later. Jayme graduated from Auburn University in 1997 with a degree in Spanish and International Business and got her MBA in Economics & Finance from Troy University in 2002. " We are both very excited about moving to Texas and becoming part of Green Valley Ranch," notes Dr. Garrett. |
| Jose Guerrero, Green Valley Ranch Assistant Manager Jose Guererro has double duties as both the Assistant GVR Manager, and he also works in the Energy Foam Division of Winegard Energy. Jose made the move to Texas when the Winegars purchased Green Valley Ranch in 2004. He is originally from Southern California, and his brothers Ramon, Rene, and Humberto also made the move with Jose and assist at the Ranch. The Guererro brothers have worked over 12 years in the equine industry. Past experiences include working for Santa Anita, Hollywood and Delmar Race Tracks in California. They also have worked at Old Ranch, Central Farms, Silver Oak and the Thoroughbred Corporation. |
